when we thought our educational tastings series could get any better, we are again
raising the bar and putting together one of the most innovative tasting events
in the country!

The
St. Louis Bourbon Society is extremely proud to virtually host an all-star lineup
with some of the superstars of the industry!
Please join us on April 28th
at 7pm CST as we welcome Bourbon Hall-of-Fame Member, Co-Creator of the Kentucky
Bourbon Trail, Founder of Bourbon Women and First Master Bourbon Taster in the World,
Peggy Noe Stevens, alongside Michter's Master of Maturation and the first woman to serve as
chair for the Kentucky
Distiller's Association, Andrea Wilson.
As
a special bonus, we will also be joined by the Cocktail Contessa herself,
Kentucky's own, Heather Wibbels who will be helping us create a unique drink
called the French Quarter Manhattan made using Michter's own Rye Whiskey and a
list of other unique ingredients that will be included in every take home kit! Heather
is an Executive Bourbon Steward and Cocktail Artist who is passionate about her
craft. This is sure to be an evening of Whiskey and Wisdom like only these
ladies can do!
As
we begin the evening, Peggy will teach us to taste like a pro, identifying each of the
profile flavors and discuss pairing them with simple foods. She and Andrea
will talk about the complexities and nuisances that make Michter's such a
beloved product among whiskey enthusiasts. Peggy will also be discussing her
latest book: "Which Fork Do I Use With My Bourbon" (each
attendee will receive a FREE hardback copy with every ticket!!!)
Peggy
will then lead us on two special pairings: Bourbon and Wasabi Peas and Michter's
Barrel Strength Rye paired with natural Carmel. This should be a unique experience
for sure!
As
we round out the evening, what better way than with a cocktail! Heather will
teach us how to make a half recipe classic cocktail with a twist. Each
participant will receive a custom etched Michter's Rocks Glass ($20
value) and all of the pre-measured ingredients to make their own cocktail at
home!
Half
French Quarter Manhattan:
1 oz
Michter's Single Barrel Rye
½ oz Rivulet
pecan liqueur or Praline Liqueur
1 dash
chocolate bitters
Garnish:
candied pecan or cherry/orange peel. Combine
whiskey, pecan liqueur, and bitters in a mixing glass. Add ice and stir until
well-chilled, about 30 seconds. Strain into a chilled cocktail glass and
garnish with a candied or toasted pecan, or a cherry and orange peel.
